Winter seaside

The seaside is very beautiful in winter, maybe even more than in summer. You walk, lonely, on the packed cold sand and see nothing around you, except seagulls and branches the sea brings on the beach.

Lavender

At the seaside, there are big bushes of lavender along the beginning of the beach. When you walk by, you hear "zzzzzzzz" .. not a soft sound, but a strong sound made by the many bees working on the flowers!

Windy days

Sand storm on the beach. This July is quite abnormal for us here, not only sunny days, nut lots of thunderstorms and ... sand storms!

Security limit

This seagull is watching that no one trespasses the security limit in the sea: evidently he is helping out lifeguards.

Back from the seaside

Back from our vacation at the seaside, here I am. It has been a nice vacation, a lot of sun, some bad weather, lots of fun with the children: just as it should be! Now I'm dealing with unpacking and my washing machine has a super work to do ... see you tomorrow!

Going to the seaside

This is one of the roads going to the seaside. It is commonly called la bassa (roughly the low one) because it runs parallel to the coast and quite close to it. It is a county road. The bigger road - a regional road - runs parallel too but a bit farther .. with more traffic too!

(I'm sorry for the quality of the picture .. quite over exposed)

Blue flag

The beach is also yours, please use me always! : this is what you find on garbage bins in Bibione . Garbage is collected in different bins for recycling.

Bibione, 25 km from Concordia, for many years up to now has been granted the Blue Flag by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education). This rewards the effort in making the beach in Bibione clean and safe and user friendly. It's my favorite place near home also for this.

Squirrels crossing

This sign at the entrance of the woods in Bibione is brand new: attenzione attraversamento scoiattoli (attention, squirrels crossing). I didn't see it last year, but I did see squirrels on the grass!

Beach organization

In Bibione (seaside town at about 22 km from Concordia) the sandy beach is 8 km long. In all its length it is divided in areas that have a number and a symbol, to help people and especially children not to get lost. It's a clever system: my daughter doesn't read yet, but she always knows that we are in the DUCK AREA o in the MOUSE AREA or so on, so if she gets lost, she can go to the beach staff and ask them to bring her to her area (or to call via loudspeakers her parents!)

To the seaside

Concordia is quite close to the coast; the Northern Adriatic Sea is averagely 20 km from us. Today I'm posting later than usual because the season to go to the seaside finally started: warm weather, sun, calm breeze!

(This picture is not where nice, it is shot throught the car's windshield with by new zoom lens. The places on the boards are all on the seaside!)
