Wild orange

This bush is growing in our backyard. It a bush of Philadelphus inodorus also called gelsomino della Madonna (roughly Holy Mary's yasmine). It has a wonderful smell that mixed with the mild spring breeze is absolutely perfect!

Ah, yes! My mother has one of these, and for no reason that makes any sense, it is commonly called "mock orange" here. It does smell wonderful.

I have one of these in my backyard. It was mixed up with the plant I bought (two plants in one container) and I had planted it and noticed two different plants. SO I have to dig it up that fall and transplant them both. Over here we call these "mock orange" I guess because it is like an orange blossom. The flowers are beautiful when opened and much like those in your wild orange plant photo.
